COVID UPDATE - Close Contact arrangements change 12.01am 30 April 2022

22 Apr 2022 18:44 | Chris Wiltshire (Administrator)

The South Australian Government has announced that from 12.01am 30 April 2022, the requirements for all close contact arrangements will change.

From this time, all close contacts of COVID cases will no longer have to quarantine for 7days. However, given the risk of infection is higher, close contacts must for the 7 days following the close contact exposure:

  • Undertake 5 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) during the 7 day period
  • Wear masks when leaving the house
  • Not attend high risk settings (hospitals, aged care)
  • Notify employers and educational facilities of their close contact status
  • If symptoms develop, undertake a PCR test and quarantine until a result is received
  • Close contacts should also:
  • Avoid non-essential gatherings
  • Avoid contact with people at risk of severe illness.

People who test positive for COVID are still required to quarantine for 7 days.

Stay safe and well, and please do not hesitate to contact the MLSA if you require any assistance.
