MLSA's Skills Assessment service is designed for people who want to find out what is needed before they apply for a contractor licence and provides professionals with an opportunity to assess their existing knowledge, identify areas for improvement and better understand where further training or professional development may be required for them to become licensed.

During the assessment, MLSA will explore your knowledge across areas relevant to landscape construction, including:

• legislative and regulatory responsibilities;
• Work Health and Safety requirements;
• technical construction knowledge;
• relevant provisions of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards;
• Obligations related to contracting work including contractual requirements
• practical knowledge relevant to the type of work you currently undertake or intend to undertake.

The purpose of the Skills Assessment isn't simply to determine what you know, it is about planning your career.

Following the assessment, we will provide direct feedback on areas where your knowledge is strong and highlight deficiencies that may require further training, experience or development. This not only gives you a clearer pathway to licensing, allowing you to focus your time where it will provide the greatest benefit, but also help you determine how you wish to progress your career.
