2011 Landscape SA Awards of Excellence Winners Announced

A total of 83 entries were received for this year's Landscape SA Awards of Excellence which is a record of LASA and indicates the renewed level of enthusiasm being shown by members in supporting the Awards.
The 2011 Awards of Excellence winners were recently announced at a presentation dinner held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 25th June. The dinner, attended by 185 landscapes, family and friends was an entertaining night and showcased the winners and entrants across the award categories.

'Our Changing Lifestyles'
2009 ALIA National Conference & Awards of Excellence - Adelaide, SA
The 2009 National Conference and Awards hosted by LASA were conducted at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide from 15th to 17th October, with the theme of the Conference being "Our Changing Lifestyles". Delegates in attendance were treated to a diverse set of topics presented by enthusiastic, interesting, world class speakers.
Speakers and their topics included: Julian Burton (OAM) - Challenges in beginning and conducting a small business Dr Tim Moore - Carbon in landscaping and garden design David Stevens (UK) - A lifetime in landscape Sophie Thomson - Value of a Garden for a sustainable future Josh Byrne - Integrated water systems for sustainable urban landscapes Adam Wright - Environmentally sustainable developments
The Awards dinner was held at the National Wine Centre where the National Awards for Construction were presented to many aspiring landscapers. Saturday followed with a bus trip to the Barossa Valley, which included a visit to Jeffries Group composting centre and the Jacobs Creek Winery.
